I am looking for enthusiastic graduate students to join the Perrine research team!

Students enjoy exploring new ideas, building and designing, and learning how chemistry on the nanoscale has big impacts on chemical processes in the fields of energy and the environment.

Our group designs samples with unique chemical and physical properties and measures surface chemical reactivity using surface analysis.

Students will learn

  • hands-on skills of building, designing and using surface analysis instruments
  • spectroscopy and microscopy techniques
  • measure surface chemical, physical and interfacial phenomena

Our research is interdisciplinary; crossing boundaries between chemistry, physics, materials science and engineering, and environmental science. My group approaches surface science from a chemical perspective, but we use instruments that operate on the principles of physics and engineering. Feel free to email me for any questions!

There is information on our Chemistry Department website on planning your career as a PhD student.
