Lectins are evolutionarily conserved proteins, found in all living forms. We study how lectins perform their diverse biological functions.

There are four specific areas of research in our lab. We study (1) the mechanistic basis of endogenous lectin-mediated immune functions, (2) the structure-activity relationship of glycoconjugates, (3) new lectins and hemolysins from plants, (4) glycan-mediated detection and separation techniques.

Research in the lab is supported by National Science Foundation and Michigan Technological University.
